Virgin Media has launched a new service, which will see tech experts visit customers’ homes to ensure that they’re getting the most out of their broadband and entertainment services.
Are you frequently frustrated by buggy broadband? Is your TV set up not as slick as it could be? Does your Netflix stream have a habit of buffering at the worst possible moment?
Well, Virgin Media’s Red House Ninjas are on hand to help you.
The new service, which is available to new and existing Virgin Media customers, is designed to help you get the absolute most out of your broadband speed and in-home services.
How does it work?
If you request a visit, Virgin Media’s Red House Ninjas will call to your home and offer advice based on your specific requirements and preferences.
For example, the Ninjas might suggest that you change the position of your router, move certain other devices into another room or upgrade certain equipment or software.
The service is designed to help you achieve top broadband speeds and an efficient in-home entertainment set up. The tech experts will call to customers’ homes between 8am and 8pm, seven days a week.
What does it cost?
Red House is available to all new and existing residential Virgin Media customers.
The service will be provided for free to the following:
- New customers whose property doesn’t allow for self-installation
- Existing customer who needs a specific fault addressed
All other customers will be charged a one-off fee of €50 for a visit from the Ninjas.
So, if you simply want an expert consultation on your home set up to see if there’s anything else you could be doing to maximise your broadband speed, it’ll cost you €50.
Virgin Media’s summer deals
There’s a broadband price war under way at the moment and Virgin Media has been an active participant.
The provider is currently offering 12-month discounts to new customers and recently launched a new broadband-only option.
For example, new customers can now get 360 Mb unlimited broadband, over 50 TV channels and unlimited calls to landlines and mobiles in Ireland, the UK, the US and 19 other countries for €54 a month for a year.
And if you don’t need a TV and phone service, you could get 240 Mb ‘Naked Broadband’ for €40 a month for 6 months, €50 a month after that.

“Ireland’s fastest”
Virgin Media is very proud of its broadband speeds and was recently crowned as ‘Ireland’s fastest internet service provider’ by Ookla for the second year running.
The provider’s 360 Mb broadband is also the fastest that is widely available in Ireland and, with the roll-out of its Red House Ninjas service, it is once again showing its commitment to providing a reliable, lightning-fast service to customers.
