Bord Gáis Energy will now offer some of its existing customers the same rates as new customers through bonkers.ie for the very first time.
When it comes to energy tariffs, providers tend to focus on new customers. Rather than rewarding their existing customers, they try to lure in new customers with shiny packages, low prices and some shiny goodies, while often forgetting about the loyal customers they already have.
Bord Gáis was one of these companies for a long time, but it appears it's changing tact when it comes to how it treats the customers it's already acquired, as it's announced that it's now offering some of its existing customers the same rates as a new customer for the very first time.
So what does that mean?
Well, if you are a current Bord Gáis customer this could be good news for you.
If you currently get just electricity or just gas you can now upgrade to Bord Gáis's dual fuel package and get the same great deal a new customer would.
And you can do that right now in just minutes through bonkers.ie.
However, if you're already a dual fuel customer you will need to wait until your current contract expires before you can get any of the deals, and when you switch you'll need to provide proof your contract is up.
So what are the current offers to new and existing customers?
Well, there are two great offers available at the moment, one of which comes with a FREE Hive smart thermostat.
