Electric Ireland Announces New Customer Discounts

Hot on the heels of the Energia launch to the marketplace last Thursday, and the Bord Gáis Energy price increase announcement on Friday, today Electric Ireland have announced a new range of prices and discounts to both new and existing customers.

Retaining the familiar names of ValueSaver (for new customer) and ValueReward (for existing customers), the new price plans boast a maximum savings of up to 15% when new customers choose them for electricity, 6% when customers choose them for gas and 12% discounts for each fuel when customers take both gas and electricity from the utility company.

 The introduction of a maximum discount of 15% is to be welcomed by all Irish consumers at a time when our energy bills have never been higher.

Gas prices have increased by over 35% in the last 3 years, and electricity prices have increased by an average of 25% over the same period.

The breakdown of the new tariffs is below - customers can compare and sign up to these tariffs on bonkers.ie. 

All customers are encouraged to check they are not paying standard prices - recent research by bonkers.ie shows that 7 out of 8 of us are on standard prices and although 1,000 people switch per month.

Average standard prices are now at €1,211.51 for electricity and €979.69 for natural gas - average household savings available is just over €270 per year for both gas and electricity.
