The last price change from Flogas was in November 2018 when it increased the price of its gas by 9.8% for customers.
It’s very seldom you hear of an energy supplier decreasing its energy prices at the same time when many other suppliers are doing the exact opposite.
However, it’s good news all round for customers of Flogas Ireland today as the energy supplier has announced it will be reducing the cost of its gas for the winter.
At a time when a lot of energy suppliers are passing on costs, most notably through their electricity prices, Flogas has decided to reduce costs when customers need it most.
This is the first gas price reduction since Energia decreased prices at the start of June.
Check out the full details of the announcement below.
Gas price reduction
With the colder winter months fast approaching, energy supplier Flogas has made the decision to reduce the cost of its natural gas for residential gas customers by 10%.
The price reduction will come into effect from November 1st and at the same time when a number of other energy suppliers’ electricity price increases take effect.
The price reduction will cut the average gas bill by €78 per year for Flogas customers who are currently on standard price plans.
Additionally, Flogas has further committed to freezing its residential electricity prices until at least March 2021, despite five other suppliers passing on costs to their electricity customers.
General manager at Flogas Energy, Paul Kenny, said:
We know that our customers need to keep their costs down, and never more so than in the current environment. We are reducing gas prices ahead of the winter period and giving certainty to householders about their electricity costs for the months ahead.
New standard pricing
We’ve included a table below so Flogas customers can see exactly what standard pricing will be come November 1st.
The prices listed below are contract dependent and may vary depending on energy usage.
