It’s October, we’re now well into the autumn season with the days getting shorter and the nights longer and colder. That usually means one thing when it comes to energy bills… rising costs :(
As of October 1st, the PSO levy rose by 30% (coming to around an extra €25 annually) and last Friday both SSE Airtricity and Bord Gáis Energy announced not unsubstantial energy price hikes. They might be the first two suppliers to raise their prices in some time, but unfortunately, it’s likely that others will follow suit in the coming weeks, especially considering wholesale gas increased by 30% back at the end of August.
